The Crown & Cushion is to the left of the trolleybus and Woolwich Power station can be seen as it was before the three large chimney stacks were built

Pretty Crummy pictures that I took a long time ago.. but interesting to see the power station chimneys coming down .. The first stack was taken down slowly by hand. These two were brought down by controlled explosion copyright chris mansfield
Early 1970s.. Woolwich Power Station
This is an old Black & White print that I took back in the early 1970s. I was sitting on top of the ferry building.. The Power station is now gone and the only trace that remains is the jetty where the coal ships used to deliver.. copyright C.Mansfield
1975... Power Station Control room
On the far right of the picture near the window you should see two meters with curved tops.... These used to show incoming voltage and outgoing voltage... I now have the incoming voltmeter in my office at home ...Liberated from the demolition mans skip... It shows incoming voltage up to 9000 volts copyright C.Mansfield
