A bit of a poor quality picture taken back in the late 1970s when one of the power station chimneys was being demolished.
This one was taken down by hand as it was unstable, the other two were demolished by explosion
Pretty Crummy pictures that I took a long time ago.. but interesting to see the power station chimneys coming down .. The first stack was taken down slowly by hand. These two were brought down by controlled explosion

This is an old Black & White print that I took back in the early 1970s. I was sitting on top of the ferry building..
The Power station is now gone and the only trace that remains is the jetty where the coal ships used to deliver..
I am guessing it dates from about 1940 ??
On the far right of the picture near the window you should see two meters with curved tops.... These used to show incoming voltage and outgoing voltage... I now have the incoming voltmeter in my office at home ...Liberated from the demolition mans skip... It shows incoming voltage up to 9000 volts
Not a very big picture ... I took this many years ago and didnt make a good job of scanning it.. This is the interior of the turbine house at Woolwich Power station. sometime in the 1970s
