This wimpy bar was where I had my first ever hamburger.. I have another copy of the Kentish Independent dated august '84 which shows Wimpy bar at 33 Hare street ... Not sure if they moved or if the paper made a typo'

Advertising Black-out blinds during the war.. Furlongs store stood on the corner of Powis street and Eleanor road ( Barnard close ) from the turn of the century .. The property was demolished in 1960 .. A new building went up in 1964-65 and its first occupant was F.J.Wallis supermarket ... later replaced by Argos.
