The First Woolwich Police station
This is the only picture I have ever seen of the original Woolwich Police station.. The building was supposed to have been the first Woolwich town Hall. However when it was completed in 1840, the Police decided it would make a fine Police station and the property was sold to the government for £1322. This building would have stood in Calderwood street, which was then known as William street ( after William Powis ) . This Police station was in use untill the new current station was built just around the corner in 1910.
