Beatrice Messent was the daughter of John Jeffery Messent , 2nd mayor of the Woolwich borough council .. JJ Messent originally had a Milliners shop in Powis street and later began an undertakers business in Thomas street .. The shop and the stables he built still exist and are still trading as an undertakers business
