At the date of this picture Adams Kids has just gone into liquidation. The current occupier ( in 2013) is a bargain basement bookshop called The Works.. This rather plain one storey block was built in 1967 as part of a shopping precinct scheme that never came to fruition .. The original occupant was Dolcis shoes which opened in Sept 1967 copyright Chris Mansfield

Clarkes is 115-117 Argos is 119-123 This block was built in the early 60s and 115-117 was first occupied by George scobles bathroom centre. In the late 70s it changed and became Brentford nylons.. 119-123 remained empty for a couple of years until it was taken by F.J.Wallis supermarket in 1969 . This used to be the premises of a clothing shop called Blue Inc' ... Arsonists set it alight and the building collapsed , taking with it the homes and posessions of two students living upstairs
