Beresford fish and chips.. Originally this property was part of a group of three shops with houses above, built by the owner of the Salutation Pub which would have been a couple of shops to the right .. From the corner of Powis street new developments were built in 1961 and 1971 ... Later in the 70s another new development was built from the corner of Beresford street ( now Iceland) I dont know how this lone building at Number 5 came to miss out on the redevelopment plans ... Perhaps the owner just did not want to sell ?? Before it became a greasy chippy this place was home to another catering outlet called "The Golden Egg" Going back to the 60s and early 70s it was a butchers shop called J.Richards.
