NATURE and WILDLIFE

I found this little feller in my garden one misty morning. He was actually hanging underneath the leaf, but I thought he looked better when I turned him over.. I used the Nikon 105VR with full set of three Kenco close up rings and two SB200 flashes mounted at the front of the lens. He looks a bit of a monster, but it was less than a quarter of an inch long.

I think this one has to be my favourite of the day, I really like the way he stands out against the sky. Lens was the Nikon 18-200VR

I sat for ages watching this little hover fly, flitting between the flowers.. It took a few tries but I managed to catch the little bugger in mid flight.. I was using the extension tubes on a nikon 105mm, but I cant remember which ones..

I just bought some extension tubes for the D300 and went off to the garden to see what I could practice on. I think this little bug is called a hover fly. Its about half the size of a wasp.

I often see this little robin in a tree by the river at Hall Place.... I dont really know if its the same one every time, but I like to think so as he is very friendly.
